Wright's Basketball Scouting was in Livermore, CA. on Friday (07/13) and Saturday (07/14) for the Nor Cal Summer Tip-Off featuring Nor Cal- top grass-roots program. There were many prospects playing in the different age groups. The 15U group is where I spent some time on Saturday.
Team Arsenal 15 Elite has a group of prospects that played outstanding basketball this weekend. The size and depth of this team is going to be a problem for any team they play during the live July period this summer.
Demarshay Johnson a 6'7 2021 long lanky athletic player still developing his offensive skills. He rebounds and pushes the ball up the court on the break showing he has been working on his ball handling skills. Foot-work, finishing around the basket and getting his body stronger will improve over time. On defense he's an aggressive rim protector who changes shots with his long reach. Luke Westermeyer 5'9 point-guard has good handles, plays under control, pushes the ball on the break, can penetrate and dish to the open player and gets the offense set.
San Francisco Rebels 15U Don't have a lot of size but they're loaded with guards with speed who can handle the ball, shoot mid range jumpers, and attack the rim relentlessly.
Ray-John Jackson 5'11 guard who can get his shot any time he wants. He does a good job of letting the game come to him, when it does he attacks the rim aggressively, pulls up for his mid-range jump shot, and he has a 3-point shot that he makes. Ray-John is a good on-ball defender. Jordan Aquino 5'5 attacking point-guard with superb ball-handling skills and a floater to go with his good looking 3-point shot. Jordan likes to break down the defense from the wings and dump it off for a easy basket inside or kick it out to Isaiah King a 5'7 guard who spots up and hits open 3-pointers.
